Why this exists

Buying a Bengal shouldn't feel like a risk.

Right now, finding a good Bengal breeder means digging through private Facebook groups, dead registry links, and classifieds pages that treat a $2,500 kitten like a used couch. Buyers get scammed. Good breeders get lumped in with bad ones.

The deposit scam

Stolen kitten photos, a convincing website, a $500 deposit over Zelle, and then silence. It is the single most common complaint in every Bengal owner group.

The health gamble

Bengals carry real genetic risk — PK-Def, PRA-b, HCM. Responsible breeders test for all three. Nothing on a classifieds site tells you whether yours did.

The good ones are invisible

The best catteries are small, careful, and terrible at marketing. They're buried on page nine of Google behind whoever spent the most on ads.

The standard

What a Kittenry badge actually means.

Most directories let anyone with a credit card create a listing. We don't. A cattery clears four checks before it appears on this site, and we re-verify every year.

  • Registry confirmed

An active TICA or CFA cattery name, checked against the registry itself — not a screenshot they sent us.

  • Health testing on file

PK-Def, PRA-b and HCM results required and kept on file before listing. We collect them — we don't authenticate lab documents, and we say so plainly.

  • Raised underfoot

Kittens raised in the home, placed no earlier than 12 weeks, fully vetted and vaccinated before they go.

  • Accepts card payment

Pay your deposit by credit card and keep your chargeback rights. Never send money by Zelle, Cash App, or wire — that's how buyers get robbed.

Just as important

What we refuse to do.

  • We don't take your deposit. You pay the cattery directly. We never sit between you and your money.
  • We don't sell placement. No breeder can buy their way to the top of the list.
  • We don't list hybrids. No F1–F3 Savannahs, servals, or caracals. Legality varies by state and we won't gamble with it.
  • We don't accept everyone. Catteries that fail verification aren't listed, no matter what they offer to pay.
Founding catteries

Verified Bengal breeders.

Each one personally reviewed. We add new catteries as they clear verification.

The difference

Why not just use a classifieds site?

You can, and plenty of people do. Here's what you're actually choosing between — written plainly, including where we're the more restrictive option.

Most directories & classifieds Kittenry
How many breeders Hundreds. Volume is the selling point. Few, and slowly. Every one checked by a person.
What their badge means Often unstated. You can't read the criteria anywhere. Published in full, so you can hold us to it.
Registry status Self-reported by the seller. Confirmed with TICA or CFA directly.
Health testing Rarely requested, almost never verified. PK-Def, PRA-b and HCM paperwork on file with us.
How you pay Whatever the seller asks for — often Zelle or wire. Card accepted, so you keep chargeback rights.
Paid placement Top spots and featured slots are usually for sale. Never. Ranking isn't purchasable at any price.
Choice available Enormous. Kittens available right now, most colours. Limited. You may have to wait, or travel.

That last row is the honest trade. If you want a kitten this week, a classifieds site has more options than we ever will. We're built for people who'd rather wait three months and know exactly what they're getting.

How it works

Three steps, no middleman.

Browse verified catteries

Filter by state, coat, price, and whether they have kittens available now. Every profile shows exactly what we verified and when.

Contact the breeder directly

No lead forms sold to five people. Your message goes straight to the cattery, and you talk to them like a normal human being.

Work out the details with them

Deposit, contract, pickup or flight nanny — all between you and the breeder. We give you a checklist so you know what to ask.

For breeders

Your reputation, finally visible.

You already do the health testing. You already raise kittens underfoot. You already turn away the wrong homes. Kittenry is where that work becomes something a buyer can actually see — instead of competing with whoever stole your photos this week.
